Pantone is a global authority on color in fashion, and at the end of a year, people in the industry hold their breath waiting for the color guide to know what the fashionable color palette will be next season. For 2017, the people at Pantone have chosen a more natural, earthy palette, different from the more primary colors this year, and the bright neon colors of 2015, reminiscent of a 1980s MTV video.
“One of the things that we saw this year, was a renewed sense of imagination in which color was appearing in context that was different than the traditional,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Reminiscent of the hues that surround us in nature, our Spring 2017 Fashion Color Report evokes a spectrum of emotion and feeling.”
